• Author Amelia Diniro was born in Italy and is a native speaker of Italian. As well, she is a retired elementary school teacher who taught French immersion. She has utilized her expertise in languages and children’s learning to develop 1, 2, 3 Italy!

This is a fun and colourful bilingual picture book for kids to learn numbers and the Italian language!

This book is bilingual (English and Italian) and introduces young children to the concept of numbers, as well as how to say the numbers in both English and Italian languages.

The book also illustrates various Italian cultural symbols, themes and geography (e.g. scooters, pizza, gelato, Colosseum, soccer, opera singers, regions in Italy) and teaches children how to say the vocabulary in both languages – English and Italian.

With the various layers of the book (e.g. numbers, language, cultural symbols), the book maintains interest after several readings and the book can be useful for several years as a child’s comprehension develops.
